Jerry Hsu is a writer, filmmaker, and comedian. After studying Computer Science and Art at Yale University, he worked as a product manager at Google, The New York Times, and an artificial intelligence lab. His existential crisis then led him to study comedic storytelling at The Second City Film School, where he was awarded the SCFS Writing Fellowship.
Jerry’s writing has placed at the Austin Film Festival, HollyShorts, SeriesFest, ISA Fast Track Fellowship, and was named the Grand Prize Winner for the Emerging Screenwriters Comedy Competition. He was selected for the DaF Comedy Festival workshop at The Onion and was an Honorable Mention for the ISA Diversity Initiative.
His short film, Whitewash, has been selected to screen at The American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes Film Festival and won Best Student Comedy at HollyShorts Comedy Film Festival.
