Jerry Hsu is a writer, filmmaker, and comedian based in LA. After studying Computer Science and Art at Yale, he worked as a product manager at Google, The New York Times, and an artificial intelligence lab. An existential crisis then convinced him to do the unthinkable: quit and move to Chicago to study comedic storytelling at The Second City Film School.

His writing has earned him The Second City Writing Fellowship and has been featured in The Onion. He is the Grand Prize Winner for the ISA’s Emerging Screenwriters Comedy Competition and has placed at the Austin Film Festival, SeriesFest Pitch-a-Thon, ISA Fast Track Fellowship, and Almanack Screenwriters Episodic Lab.

His short film, Whitewash, has been selected to screen at The American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes Film Festival and won Best Student Comedy at HollyShorts Comedy Film Festival.
